At 8 years old, I discovered my mom’s 45 of The Gambler by Kenny Rogers and fell in love with the art of storytelling through songs. A few months later, my mind was blown when Kenny appeared on The Muppet Show.

My passion for music only grew as I explored artists like Freddie Mercury, Prince, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Bill Withers, and countless others.

I eventually chose drums as my main instrument, leading to three decades of gigs, tours, recordings, and performances.

But could I write a song? I never thought so… I had worked with so many great songwriters and singers, I was intimidated.

But then, COVID happened, and so I bought a piano on a whim. What was I going to do with my locked-up-at-home time? I started with some improvisations, then started taking lessons. At some point I started singing and then recording songs.

Now at 55, I find the most joy in writing, recording, and performing my own songs. I hope you’ll follow me or take inspiration from my journey.
